Nick's Birthday Party

With the move, I am a little late in posting Nick's birthday party pictures. I realize now I worked so hard on this party so I didn't have to think about the move and its details until this point :)

Nick's party was a Cars theme of course. It was so much fun. The kids had a great time and Nicholas seemed to enjoy every minute. I got most of the ideas online and thank goodness, Cars party essentials are everywhere.

Setup was fun to finally see everything come together.... Nicholas was a big help.

Pin the checkered flag on Lightning McQueen!

We made all of our favor bags for our friends.

Happy 4th Birthday Nicholas.
A racetrack cake!

I am so excited I have to jump!

Even the little guys played with cars!

Nick won't wear the blindfold so he just closes his eyes.
He didn't win :)
The kids had a blast with the beanbag game.

Enjoying some lunch after our games!

The mass chaos of opening presents!

Nick always opens his card before his present!

Nick's face while the kids were singing to him.
I am not sure where he gets all his silliness from!

Red Robin Birthday

Red Robin, a wonderful chain restaurant that is awesome for families with kids, gives a free birthday meal and sundae to the lucky birthday kid. We always go there on our birthdays, and Nicholas knew exactly what was coming every step of the way. The video is hysterical. He is only 4 and already embarrassed by the annoying singing!! Anything for free ice cream and balloons!

Gotta Be Kidding Me!

Ok, so I went to the dr. with Nate today. He was there for his 9-month checkup.

Here are his stats:

Your child is 22 pounds, and that is
at the 68th percentile for weight.

Your child is 29 inches, and that is
at the 67th percentile for height.

HOW ARE THERE 32% MORE BIGGER KIDS THAN ME OUT THERE???? HOW THE HELL BIG ARE THEY??? He is huge, I don't get it!!

As for Nicholas, he went to the doctor too-- he is now four years old. He was 44 1/2 pounds and 42 1/2 inches. His stats:

Your child is 44 pounds, and that is
at the 93rd percentile for weight.

Your child is 44.5 inches, and that is
at greater than the 97th percentile for height.

He switched to a big full size bed on his birthday night. As you can see from his percentiles, he needed out of that toddler bed and quick!

Will post birthday dinner and party pics soon!

Stepping Up

There has been a lot of "stepping up" going on in our house lately. First, Nicholas stepped up from a "3" to a "4" in preschool on Thursday. It was an adorable "graduation." And very fitting since Nicholas officially turned 4 yesterday.

First Cupcakes at School!

This week is a very busy one for us- Nicholas graduated from a "3" to a "4" in preschool. He celebrates his 4th birthday tomorrow, so it is very fitting. I will try to post things in order and it will take me a few days to catch up!

On Tuesday, Nicholas celebrated his birthday at school. I again had to make cupcakes. If you read last year's post, I had to make vanilla cupcakes with white frosting with the number "3" and sprinkles. This year's request was pretty much the same, only we needed to change to the number "4" and he wanted M&M's instead of sprinkles. Nothing fancy but homemade with love.

I went into the classroom to see him for his first birthday celebrated at school, and after all these years of teaching kids and watching their faces light up at everyone singing to them, it was finally time to enjoy my own boy's birthday at school!

Nate didn't quite get to singing- it was naptime!
