I told you I wouldn't keep it up!

I have had many complaints that I wasn't posting enough. Most of my friends who were complaining do not have a two year old!! First, we are busy- we are buddies and have things to do and see! Second, when your child is two, you won't take as many pictures of them because they don't stay still for long enough to get one! So here is an update for July! My mom came and visited us to help while Matt was out of town doing some CG business in Boston. It was fun-- we kept her busy with all of our outings. We had lots of time at the pool, which Nicholas loves, and Grandma bought him lots of things to wear, both in and out of the pool (as you can see). We also had our kitchen and family room floors redone this past weekend-- it is now laminate. I love it. Come and visit us soon!

August is going to be a busy month so there will be a lot of posts. We are going to visit our friends, the Aleksak family, and will be going to Sesame Place where Nicholas will get to meet Elmo face to face. I can't wait! The Coast Guard Cutter Eagle will be in town and I will get to take a ride! Finally, it will be the big 3-0 for my Mathew. We are taking a much needed couple vacation to Charlottesville to wine taste and celebrate and get away (only 3 hours from home in case of emergency!!) Grandma and Grandpa Fine will be here to watch Nicholas for us. Until then, stay safe and have a fantastic rest of July! I expect to see lots of comments on this post!

Fourth of July

We had a great time this 4th of July! We went to Busch Gardens to see the fireworks, and I slowly realized that this was Nicholas's first time being up really late outside. He was mesmerized by the fact that stars really exist in the sky outside of books! He enjoyed seeing them twinkle and singing to them! However, he was not so excited by the fireworks making loud booms. He didn't see much of them- he buried his head in Daddy's neck and sang along to the patriotic songs but wanted nothing to do with seeing them. I realized that fireworks are a 3-D image, and it must seem like they were going to fall on his head. Needless to say, he did have a fun time playing in the water at Busch Gardens and remembered that part fondly the next day. For the real 4th festivities, no one could compare with the BBQ here on Bridle Path Lane, otherwise known as BPL (in case you didn't know, our street has its very own bumper stickers and website-- http://geocities.com/bridlepathlane/). Nicholas took part in the talent show and had a lot of fun with his neighborhood friends. We hope you come to visit us on BPL really soon!

Two Years Two Late?

All of our friends have blog pages where they post pictures and updates. I am a little late getting started, but better late than never. Nicholas turned 2 on May 22nd and is a very smart little man. He is not shy but quite skittish of all things unknown. He loves the ABC's and is quite the littlest American Idol. We hope these blogs and pictures will help those who miss him so much keep close in heart. Love you guys!
